The Tennessee special election added Republican Congressman Matt Van Epps to expand the majority to 220 Republicans and 213 Democrats. It was a victory for Republicans but the low voter turnout is creating some anxiety heading into 2026 midterms. Right now is the perfect opportunity for Republicans to take the health care issue out of the hands of Democrats and do something about the expiring ACA subsidies. President Trump has stated he is open to extending them while continuing to deliver on affordability like lowering the price of prescription drugs. Jim McLaughlin, the president's longtime pollster is worried that if healthcare subsidies lapse Trump voters will actually vote with Democrats on this issue. Republicans will need to move on healthcare and affordability or they will surrender the 2026 midterms. In a shocking turn of events, ABC actually reported something that was true. The debate over the second the strike on the drug boat was put to bed last night. Martha Raddatz reported that the survivorts climbed back onto the boat, were in communication with others and trying to salvage the drugs. Tim Walz let a $1 billion fraud ring take place in Minnesota under his watch, which is now being investigated by the House Oversight Committee.
